Edina, Bassa
Edina is a small town, located in Grand Bassa County, situated on the central portion of the Atlantic Coast of Liberia. Replete with rivers and beaches, Edina is a confluence where three rivers merge and flow into the ocean resulting in rivers and beaches all in one location.
Rich with history, Edina is one of the original settlements established in 1839 by the emacipated slaves who returned to Liberia from the United States.
Edina is also the birthplace of Liberia's 12th president, Joseph James Cheeseman. It was also home to one of Liberia's earliest settlers, Charles R.H. Johnson. He is also son of Elijah Johnson who was one of the pioneers that played significant roles in establishing Liberia.
